Mood Disorders
A recent article in Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) indicated that depression is one of the most prevalent of all medical illnesses. One in 5 adults experience depression at least once in a lifetime, fewer than half seek treatment. Most people who die of suicide had an untreated depression. Twice as many women as men experience depression, both are equally at risk for manic-depression.
